A girlfriend and I are actually saving money for a European vacation - so hopefully I'll hit Barcelona and Lisbon within in the next couple of years! Hike the Appalachian Trail from start to finish, preferrably with my little sis. Go on a Barefoot Cruise (I LOVE the idea of a sailing ship, rather than a big, ugly, commercial cruise liner). Raft the Grand Canyon - oh wait, I already did that one (tehehehe - giggle, giggle - that still excites the hell out of me :) Go on a luxury safari. I don't do much luxury, but I think a luxuri safari would be kick-ass.

Is Porn the End of the Line?

About a week ago I read on an industry blog about a politician's wife being outed as a porn star. The first thing I thought was "wow, I wonder if that's so-and-so from DC". When I lived there, it was not at all unusual to meet politicians, career military, law enforcement, etc. in the swing scene. Generally, swingers are a more educated, more savvy, more well-traveled bunch than the general population ... and DC is the mecca of upper-echelon public servants.

So of course I went to read the article and see if I knew who it was about.

I didn't - the story wasn't even from DC but from Fort Myers, FL. And now its all over the news. First, the outing. And now, the firing. I'm sure you've all heard that the town manager was fired in a unanimous city council vote. Not because of anything he's done or not done, not because of his job performance, but because his wife was outed as a porn star.

How fucking ridiculous is the mentality of the general population in this country? This guy has a long and, by all reports, successful career as a town manager, but because his wife does porn he no longer has a job?

Huh. How many hookers does Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, party with on a regular basis? And the Italian people love him! (I love him! ... for the hookers anyway, I have no clue what his politics actually are :)

It is so disgustingly sad that once a person is associated with sex work in this country, they are effectively banished from the main.

I've been wondering for a while now what my future holds for me. I have a bachelors degree in English Literature with a minor in Biology. Before I got into porn I worked in a variety of jobs - from medical technician in surgical research to reporter/researcher to manuscript evaluator to public relations for a major television network. I left my last full-time job over 14 years ago - I was planning on spending the extra time writing, but as things would have it the site ended up being a full-time job for me.

Over the last 14 years I've gone through periods where I've been bored with the site, and have taken on a couple other jobs - mainly just to keep my brain occupied. I was a freelance radio news reporter for a couple of years and I was hired as marketing manager for a dealership here in town. I HATED the dealership job, and quit after about eight months. The news job I really enjoyed. It paid crap, but I enjoyed interviewing the sheriff, the councilmen, the supervisors, the town manager (yup, just like the guy who got fired). I enjoyed having my finger on the pulse of the community. I enjoyed knowing what was going on and letting everyone else know what was going on. And I have to admit it was really cool to hear myself on the radio every day :)

But then one day the owner of the radio network decided to run for state congress, and I was summarily fired. Not because I'd done a bad job. Not because there had ever been any complaints. Quite the contrary - not long after I started, my boss was getting all sorts of complimentary calls about me. It was because I was also doing porn ($10/story doesn't cover the rent!) and he needed me off his payroll before he ran. It was a preemptive strike on his part. He knew when he hired me that I had my site and that it was fairly successful and popular for what it was. He wasn't worried about it ... until he thought others might be looking into his business.

So there I went.

Now, as I get closer to 40 every year, I wonder what the future holds for me. With my own experience, and reading about things like the Fort Myers incident, I can't say that its looking all that rosy. I don't want to be in front of a camera when I'm 50 years old. Kudos to the ladies who do (some of them are really good friends), but I just don't think its for me.

But I worry about what that leaves me with. With a couple exceptions, I've been running a porn site for the last 14 years. Is it even possible to put that in a resume in such a way that it won't send prospective employers running in the other direction? Could I ever go back to a mainstream career? Or have I painted myself into a corner? Is Porn the end of the line?

So, in other news ... had a fun but relatively tame weekend. Spent Saturday poolside with my friends and their family. One of my good friend's little dogs died, and he was having a memorial. Summers on the Lake

As strange as it my seem, I was just answering an email from my mom. We haven't spoken much in the last ten years (since my uncle discovered my site & lifestyle and went blabbing to my parents and they freaked the crap out), but we did reconnect (a bit) last April when I spent a week out in MA for my little sister's wedding. Anyway, it was just a little note about how the summer is going. Simple, polite. Easy and, most importantly, with no hint of all that emotional baggage I've lost patience with. So I answered.

Summers in Havasu are fucking hot. Yeah, its a dry heat and all that. But its still HOT! Like, so hot that you can't walk barefoot more than two feet out the door before your soles start to sizzle on the pavement. Frying eggs on the sidewalk - NOT a funny desert anecdote. They actually do it, every year.

All the same, its almost always sunny and there's almost always a breeze (even if it does feel like its coming out the end of a hair dryer) and its just so hard to stay inside. I really don't think I'd be able to live in the desert (like Phoenix) if we didn't live in Havasu. The lake makes all the difference in the world. You can actually be outside in the summer if you're on/in the water. Yeah, pools are nice, but they get hot too. The lake never gets hot or even warm. Its always cool and refreshing. And I really can't think of a better way to spend a summer weekend then floating on the lake with a bunch of friends.

Now that the boat is fixed, I'm pretty sure thats where you'll find me every weekend 'til October!

TMI Tuesday #194

I was up pretty much all night (not happily) and consequently I'm feeling like ass so my TMI this week is going to be a quickie. I've also rescheduled today's camz show to tomorrow at 3:00 pacific.

1. Where was the first place you ever had sex?

Not really all that often, I don't think. I used to tell little social lies (the I-like-your-shoes kind) all the time, but I don't do much of that anymore. I really have started sticking to the maxim that if you don't have something nice to say, you just don't say anything at all. Which means in some cases and about some people, I've become very quiet (if any of my friends are reading this, you know exactly what I'm talking about). I have a hard time staying quiet sometimes (i.e., when I'm really drunk) and I've pissed some people off because I say whats on my mind even if it isn't so nice. I try to remember "judge not lest thee be judged", but it can be hard. I really can't think of a big whopper I've told in a long, long time. Actually, I can't remember the last big whopper I told period - though I'm sure there are some somehwere in my past. It can be said that I'm honest to a fault.


3. If you could only be one, would you rather be smart or good looking?

Smart. I'd rather not be a brainiac and look like a pile of dog shit - everything in moderation right? - but it'd be better than being dumb as a rock. 'Course, if you're dumb as a rock, do you even know that you're dumb as a rock?


4. Have you ever passed out or suffered memory loss from drinking too much?

I've never passed out while in the middle of doing something, but I've fallen into a deep, quick, dreamless sleep the second I've laid my head on the pillow. Does that count? :) Oh wait, I did "fall asleep" while licking pussy one night! But my head was resting on the soft pillow of another woman's thighs, so it doesn't count after all! And don't we all forget little pieces of the night before when we've been drinking? We don't? Uh-oh. I've never had a complete black-out ... when prodded or rehashing the evening with people who were there, I generally remember it all. At least hazily. :)


5. Top or bottom?

Totally depends on the person and the situation. I tend to take the top when I'm with guys/girls/groups other than my hubby. With hubby, I'm generally the bottom.

Victoria's Secret, Fredericks of Hollywood. For some reason I'm getting the AVN Novelty Magazine (trade mag for toy sellers). I used to get this really cool catalog called ForPlay, but I don't think they publish it anymore. They had the sexiest lingerie & shoes in there!

Had a GREAT Weekend

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had as much fun over your holiday weekend as I did! We did get the boat out on the water (after much trial & tribulation) and we took it out with a bunch of friends down to Copper Canyon. It was kind of weird for me because we weren't having a "site" holiday - we were out with a bunch of swingers but we weren't taking any pictures. So I was the voyeur this weekend instead of the exhibitionist :) I have to say, it can be really fun and relaxing to watch all the chickies getting crazy instead of having to be the chickie getting crazy! (Not that I don't enjoy that too - this was just a little change of pace :)

And getting crazy the girls were indeed! In fact, its a shame that I didn't take any pics (we broke my little camera camping the weekend before last - got ash or something in it - and we don't like to take the nice camera on the water). I haven't seen so many naked titties in Copper Canyon in a while! Oh, and did I mention the girl-on-girl box licking? Woo-hoo!! The girls were pretty drunk, but they were damn cute, and the guys with the stripper pole on the front of their boat were definitely getting their money's worth out of it :)

Nuts, I wish I had a few pictures to share with you :( I will definitely have to go out and get myself a new little camera, and SOON!

I have a bunch of email I need to answer, so if you've sent in a Video Application recently and haven't heard back from me, don't worry, I haven't dissed you, I've just been lazy with email. If you haven't sent in a video app ... well, why the hell not? :)

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July Everyone! We're heading out on the lake today (launched the boat at 2 am this morning!). We're staying on this side of the lake so I'm not sure how much craziness we'll find - it may just be a day of relaxing and swimming (lounging on floats!) and drinking with friends. Of course, we have been known to get naked with these friends :)

We're definitely staying out for the fireworks. Trying to figure out if we'll make a whole deal of it with a midnight cruise afterwards, or if we'll come back in and do a little party of some sort (or crash someone elses :) We'll have to see what the day brings!

I'm off to the store to pick up beer, ice & lunch. And then we're on our way. Have a happy and safe holiday everyone!

PH Friday

Your Poker Hottie of the week is Shannon Elizabeth! Not only is she smokin', but she's an avid poker player too. Now if she were only bi ... :)

Not much time to write ... in the middle of getting dinner ready (pasta for pasta salad is boiling on the stove). Mike & Topless April are coming over for BBQ (steaks, pasta salad, caesar salad & corn on the cob) before poker. Just a little way for me and Lance to say thanks for all the work they put into the boat over the last few days. We haven't actually launched it yet (kept having electrical problems), but as of last night it SEEMED like it was good to go! And I spent a good two hours earlier this afternoon giving it a good hose down. Had to get rid of all those spider webs! (ICK!).

I think we're going to try to launch after poker tonight - hopefully the ramp won't be all that busy at midnight. And we'll be out on the water all day tomorrow and tomorrow night for the fireworks. If all goes according to plan, which so far hasn't happened once this week. Crossing my fingers that the boat will start up and run without any problems!!

Camping with my Honeys

Not a very sexy post, but a fun one (for me anyway!). One of my all-time favorite activities in the world is camping - and we spent a couple days up in the mountains last weekend doing just that. It was AWESOME (even though the bugs sucked). We camped near Lake Kinnikinick (I love that name :) just south of Flagstaff. There were eight peeps and six dogs - a real pack! I did a little hiking and a little mountain biking, Lance did some crawfishing, and some of the others went off one afternoon for some recreational shooting, but mostly we all just hung out around the campfire eating, drinking and goofing off. I love the mountains, I love the woods, I love the lake & I love my friends :) I didn't have any pics of me on my camera when we got home, but here are a few miscellaneous pics from the trip:


My two honeys - Lance and GrogDog. Lance is getting ready to toss in a crawfish trap, and Groggy is helping him look for those icky little mudbugs.



The camping tree. Kinda like a Christmas tree, except the ornaments are empty beer cans :) Not to worry, we cleaned up when we left. See my tent in the background? Yeah, I meant to put the tent in the shade, but somehow the Jeep ended up there instead. Doh!



The Campfire Grill. We eat like KINGS when we're camping! Wish I'd gotten a picture of the tri-tip and ribs we smoked the night before :)

Lance just came back from the lake and it looks like he got the boat fixed. YEAH!! So we'll definitely be heading out this weekend and hopefully they'll be lots of crazyness up at the mini-sandbar! I'll be sure to take pics!

We have a friend coming into town from Memphis in a couple of hours so we'll be heading out for dinner and drinks tonight. Looks like the holiday weekend is starting a little early!!! Woo-Hoo!
